This body of work was influenced by the ancient and traditional technique 'Ikat' - The process of creating a design through the binding and dyeing of the warp yarns before weaving. Creating a design this way gives the sense of movement vertically as colours change and an almost hand-painted effect.
A wool warp was used to create this fabric and this gives the design a matt and textured finish with deep, rich colour.
This collection plays with a range of colour, from bright greens to deep purples and contrasting black tones.
Celebrating the history and craftsmanship that goes into making an ikat fabric, while giving it a fresh and contemporary look, suitable for many modern and classic interior spaces.
